    Il problema dei migranti in Italia – il feedback del fenomeno migratorio nelle riviste italiane di ispirazione cattolica

    The article discusses the problem of the migration phenomenon in Italy. The first part of the paper presents an analysis of the current migration incidents on the territory of Italy. Next, the author presents briefly the teaching of the Catholic Church on the problem of immigrants. In the second part, the author analyses the content of catholic-inspired scientific journals and popular magazines about the migratory phenomenon in Italy using the methods of qualitative research. The research was conducted in the period of July-August, 2016. The findings are based on an analysis of 100 articles found in journals issued between the years 2011 and 2016.

    Oratorio salesiano in Italia – integrazione dei ragazzi stranieri di seconda generazione

    The article discusses the problem of the integration of young foreigners, the so called “new Italians” in the Christian context. Italian Salesians implemented a new style of educational work with adolescents/immigrants who moved to Italy from different parts of the world. The first part of the paper emphasizes that the Oratorio has a clear concept of youth’s integration with the Christian community based on human values. The second part, including empirical studies conducted in 2016, presents the contemporary efforts of the Salesians/secular tutors in their work with young immigrants.

    In this article entitled: A Pedagogical model of rehabilitation of maladjusted adolescents. Salesian experiences in the context of their work in Italy, the author raises the issue of prevention with reference to the Salesian system of education. Drawing on available literature, the author is trying to present a model of rehabilitation pedagogy adopted by the Salesians in Italy. This issue becomes a crucial problem in the article which is written in a descriptive and analytical way. The first part of the study discusses a new concept of Salesian prevention developed in the course of work with the socially maladjusted youth. In the second part, the author attempts to outline the above mentioned model of pedagogical rehabilitation which appears in the work experience of the Salesians in Italy.

    Relacje konfliktowe w środowisku wychowawczym. Badania empiryczne wśród nauczycieli-studentów WSFP „Ignatianum” w Krakowie

    The article is devoted to problems related to conflicts which may happen in school or other educational circumstances between an educator and young people. The author of this article is looking for new solutions in a creative way, using some rules from his personal school work experience with pupils. He stresses that in order to overcome difficulties with students, teachers have to be aware of the five stages of emotions: anger, refusal, afterthought, reconciliation and renewal. The analysis of the obtained empirical data made it possible to arrive at certain conclusions concerning teachers’ attitude towards pupils who are in conflict with them. On the basis of this research, it is justifiable to state that teachers need special skills, such as the capability of retrospection and reconciliation, in order to restore new and vital relationship with young people.

    Rola przedmiotów szkolnych w wychowaniu młodzieży do życia w społeczeństwie wielokulturowym

    The article approaches the problem related to teaching school subjects in the secondary school from the multicultural point of view. The changing situation into multicultural in the contemporary Polish society calls for the cooperation of teachers of different subjects. Teachers while working in the school should not try to keep the mentality of the one culture country attitude towards all students. They should show young people that it is possible to learn through the different school subjects the significance of tolerance and mutual collaboration between people from different cultural background living in the Polish society. Teachers should be made aware of the fact that the integration of students from different countries and their peaceful cooperation with the majority is possible introducing new teaching methods. The article suggests that, the only thing we can do for the growing number of foreign students in Poland, if we do not want them to keep on feeling strangers among strangers, is to give them a clear school policy through the different subjects and to change social attitudes by enforcing education not “about” multiculturality, but “how” to live in the multicultural society.

    Salezjański system wychowania młodzieży ‒ możliwe wypaczenia

    The content of this article is related to the issues concerning Salesian educational system. The author has outlined some possible distortions of Don Bosco’s Salesian preventive system to which an educator is exposed. First of all, the educational errors which appear while working with young people concern the dimension of entertainment. Secondly, the author mentioned the instrumental treatment of the pupils. Next, the article touches the problem of paternalism as an effect of over protective love. There is a quite frequent problem of putting to much emphasis on actions according to the formal and structural requirements at schools which results in sticking to regulations. The author finishes indicating the last two distortions: leading to negligence of individual’s full development and overstressing the religious dimension at the expense of pupil’s integral education.

    Współczesna rodzina podhalańska. Wpływ emigracji zarobkowej na wychowanie dzieci i młodzieży – wyniki badań empirycznych

    The article considers problems related to parents’ migration in order to find a job in Western Europe and in the USA, and its influence on children’s education in family. It analyses the following issues: relations between parents – children, advantages and disadvantages of parents’ absence at home. The author presents the main findings of his empirical research taken place in Podhale region. It was attempted to ask parents who remain at home about their opinion whether husband/wife’s absence has any influence on children’s education in family. The questionnaire was delivered in 2004/2005. It emerged that the adults did not perceived working abroad as a main negative aspect of their family life. However, it was found that for many parents it is difficult to educate their children while husband/wife living abroad because of work.

    Zachowania ryzykowne młodzieży. Formy prewencji w szkole salezjańskiej w świetle badań ankietowych

    The article approaches the situation of Salesian secondary school from pedagogical perspective in the new society which faces the drug abuse, alcoholism, problems related to “non formal” teenage groups. The author presents the main findings of his empirical research on the reasons which lead young people to disturbed behavior at school. The questionnaire was delivered to secondary school students in 2003. The author of the article has tried to investigate the role of the Catholic school in the new social context. It was attempted to ask secondary school students about their attitude to school as an institution, to family, to values. It emerged that the students’ attitude was positive in many aspects. It was found that family and school presents many opportunities for personal upgrade and the acceptance of positive values in young peoples’ life. However, it was found that a rural surroundings does not provide adequate perspectives for intellectual and professional development. In addition, it seems that drug problems are not the main issue for the moment in this area.
