In this article, the issue of homelessness in the aspect of its definition, causes and typology was subjected to scientific reflection at the beginning. Subsequently, the subject of scientific analysis became the ethical and moral problems of a social worker in interpersonal relations with the homeless. Ethical principles and norms are first of all in the Code of Ethics of Social Workers and Social Assistance Workers of the Polish Federation and in the Ethical Code of the Polish Society of Social Workers. In addition, a social worker must achieve many goals. One of such goals is continuous ethical and moral improvement as well as personality improvement. The second area of formation of a social worker is professional qualifications, which assume the following principles: a) the principle of operation for the good and respect of the charges; b) the principle of fidelity and responsibility; c) the principle of honesty and integrity; d) the principle of justice; e) the principle of respect for human rights and human dignity.
