Pozycja Aktywizacja zawodowa bezdomnychKoral, Jarosław; Szluz, Beata (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2009)Homelessness is a non-homogenous social problem, not easy to diagnose. In Poland there is still a deficit in research regarding this issue and studies conducted so far focus for example on the question of homelessness itself, marginalisation resulting from it, analysis of the social environment of the homeless, heterotopy of homelessness and presentation of practical solutions aimed at this group of beneficiaries (e.g. aid programmes, activity of specific institutions). In recent years, a system of shelters has been established allowing the homeless "to survive". However, more often than not they reinforce the existing condition rather than allow for overcoming it. One of the elements which are a decisive factor in the process of overcoming homelessness involves finding, taking up and sustaining work. Professional activity means performing a specific job. In case of the homeless the option of obtaining a job is connected with a number of difficulties. Remembering about that, the author of the herein article has attempted to discuss the issue of employment activation of the homeless.Pozycja Bezdomna kobieta jako matkaSzluz, Beata (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2013)This article is based on a larger research study by the author conducted in 2009 among 52 homeless women in the podkarpackie voivodship. It brought about increasing poverty, health problems and pathological behaviors. Weak resistance to difficult situations in life makes people fall into a state of helplessness. Afflicted by homelessness, they become unable to manage by themselves, and get lost in harsh reality (cultural and personality effects typical of a homeless person). Thus, the issue of homelessness is an extreme one (is the most tragic in its effects), and consequently a pathological one. Problems that emerge include the need for an active social policy and social work as well as for activities of mutual-aid and of charitable character. This article presents the opinions of community houses’ inhabitants on homelessness.Pozycja Doświadczanie choroby Parkinsona (ujęcie socjologiczne)Szluz, Beata (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2019)Choroba Parkinsona jest jedną z najczęstszych chorób neurozwyrodnieniowych i dotyczy przede wszystkim pacjentów po 50. roku życia. The purpose of the analysis is to learn the opinions of students in the cities of Lviv and Rzeszow with respect to the intergenerational transmission of values and attitudes. The formulation of the research problem: how do students in Eastern Poland and Western Ukraine perceive intergenerational transmission of values and attitudes? While conducting the research, both survey method and survey technique were used. Purposive sampling was determined by the following criteria: nationality, age, gender, and field of study. The foremost value which students internalised, and passed on to them by their mothers, is love. Assisting others and caring for loved ones were also apparent. The mothers of Polish students shaped the respondents’ attitudes regarding respect for others, while Ukrainian students internalised the following values passed on to them by their mothers: justice, patriotism, and freedom; in contrast to Polish students, for whom these values and attitudes appeared to be the least important. The fathers of the students shaped: industriousness and a prosperous life. The context of carrying out economic functions was lauded. According to Polish students, fathers passing on values such as respect for others, love, and honesty were also important; similar to what Lviv students thought were important. Ukrainian respondents emphasised that their fathers had shaped their broad intellectual horizons. For these students, honesty and justice were equally important. Students who had been educated in Lviv reported religiosity as the least important. This was most often instilled by their mothers (somewhat more often Ukrainian) rather than by their fathers (somewhat more often Polish). The results demonstrated differences in the assessment of the transmission of values and attitudes of Ukrainian and Polish mothers and fathers.Pozycja Jarosław Koral, Etyczno-społeczne aspekty bezrobocia w świetle doświadczeń polskich, Warszawa 2004, ss. 239.Szluz, Beata (Instytut Teologiczno-Pastoralny im. św. bpa Józefa Sebastiana Pelczara w Rzeszowie, 2004)Pozycja Jarosław Koral, Polityka społeczna – wybrane zagadnienia. Handicapped people make up a very diversified social group. It is not homogenous group, that is why a wide range of problems associated with it exists. Diversity concerns causes, kinds and degrees of handicap as well as acquired education and experience. They can be people in different age, who have secured care of a family, people who take advantage of complete care of the social institutions (secular or ecclesiastical) as well as homeless people. For education since a very long time occupied one of the main positions among social tasks, but initially it referred only to the individuals who didn’t vary from standard. Educational care over mentally handicapped children goes back to not so distant times. Importance of educational and rehabilitation work with these people increased and unquestionable dynamism of mental handicap gives hopes of achievements in this field. The reason of this situation is a development of an idea of humanitarianism, social readiness to help people who are weaker and less proficient. Furthermore, a scientific progress is essential as well as social and economic considerations. Subjective treatment of a human being’s development, positive thinking concerning chances of development of an individual as well as focus on possibilities of realisation by each person is an appeal, law and a duty that is noticed in individual and social aspect.Pozycja Osoby niepełnosprawne w Unii Europejskiej – sytuacja i perspektywySzluz, Beata (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2007)Pozycja Problem bezdomności w Norwegii – skala zjawiska, uwarunkowania, przeciwdziałanieSzluz, Beata (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)Homelessness is a social problem which in spite of its prevalence has not been successfully solved till today. Lack of possibility to communicate creates another barrier separating them from the healthy people (physically fit and speaking). Difficulties which originate lack of understanding by others in a consequence lead to the deprivation of sensorial and social needs. Speech enables greater participation in the social life then non-verbal behaviors. A word sets a man free from the contacts with a direct group, allows at the same time a direct contact (breaking the time and spatial limitations). On the other hand non-verbal communication links a man with a community that is accessible to him. But in the situation of the development disturbances of any kind communication process becomes disorganized, learning of a language in particular. A necessity arises to replace the verbal communication by a non-verbal one, which becomes an alternative that makes the active communication with the social environment possible. In the present article there was contained a reflection encompassing problems of the handicapped people relating to the verbal communicating and proposals of the chosen solutions in this scope.
