Bizantyjska hymnografia liturgiczna jako źródło teologiczne

The author of the article deals with the methodology of research of liturgical texts. He proposes the thesis that the Byzantine liturgical hymnography is an inseparable part of Church’s tradition. That’s why the theology cannot do without investigation of the liturgy, its content and symbols. On the other hand, for the valuable and full research of the Byzantine hymnography the liturgist should be an expert in different branches of theology: biblistics, dogmatics or patristics. In spite of this, the research requires the knowledge of the cultural context of Byzantine epoch, in which the discussed texts arose. It is also necessary to take into consideration methodological roles which let the theological sense of hymnography to be read and transmitted to the Church of today.
