Pozycja Aktualne wyzwania dla formacji katechetów w środowisku parafialnymZellma, Anna (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)The formation of catechists is a critical aspect analyzed from various perspectives and within diverse contexts. Researchers predominantly focus on issues related to the formation process in individual dioceses. This study aims to illuminate the current state of catechist formation in the parish and the challenges inherently associated with it. The investigation draws primarily from the results of a survey conducted among catechists in Poland. The opinions of respondents regarding the organization of catechists’ meetings in the parish are presented. The study delves into the frequency and types of formation activities, highlighting Masses dedicated to the intentions of catechists and examining cooperation among those involved in parish activities. The findings indicate that catechists express a positive perception of their formation within the parish. They underscore the significance of valuing the parish community as a privileged space for formation, where the catechetical vocation takes root and develops, and where the faith of catechists is both revitalized and strengthened.Pozycja Biskupi rzecznikami ubogich i ewangelicznego ubóstwa: grupa „Jezus – Kościół – ubodzy” na trzeciej sesji Soboru Watykańskiego IIPietrzak, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)The article, based on unpublished archival materials from the Archives of the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium, analyzes the activities of the “Jesus – Church – poor” group during the third session of the Second Vatican Council. The author focuses on three issues: 1. The symbolic gesture of Paul VI, who donated his papal tiara to the poor and needy. The author discusses the event, its context – especially the encyclical Ecclesiam Suam – and the implications for the group, especially reinforcing the need for practical decisions; 2. Two petitions to the pope on poverty and the simplicity of the Church’s life and the evangelization of the poor. The author analyzes the content of the petitions and their impact on the Council’s deliberations; 3. The “Jesus –Church – poor” collaboration with Cardinal Giacomo Lercaro in preparing a report on poverty at the request of Paul VI, and in particular the three-part study by Bishop Marcos McGrath, Fr. Yves Congar, and Bishop John Wright.Pozycja Globalization as a Challenge for the Catholic Church in the United States of America in the 21st CenturyRozborski, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)The aim of the article is to show how globalization contributes to changes in the culture of the United States, especially to social degradation, economic exclusion, lifestyle and participation in the life of the Catholic Church. The article aims to show the challenges facing the Catholic Church in fulfilling its mission in a society immersed in the processes of globalization. The problem of this study can be summarized in the following questions: What impact does globalization have on the contemporary social, cultural, and religious fabric in the United States, what challenges does it pose to the Catholic Church in the twenty-first century? How is the Church to fulfill its mission in American society? These questions can be answered through a physical examination of the documents of the universal Church, a presentation of the teaching of the Church in the United States, and a review of the publications of American theologians and sociologists. After a brief introduction, the impact of globalization on the culture, social and religious structure of U.S. society will be analyzed. Then, the phenomenon of disintegration and social exclusion related to globalization will be analyzed. At the opposite pole of globalization there is another social phenomenon – consumerism as a lifestyle. Finally, the article examines the proposals for pastoral activity of the Church in the U.S.A. in the face of the challenges posed by globalization.
