Many ideas, concepts, notions and problems which in our days function in science come from Ancient Greek Philosopher of Science. The article presents genesis of cosmological horizons in pre-relativistic physics. This subject was presented in two chapters: 1. “Boundary o f the Universe” in ancient and mediaeval models of the Universe; 2. Newtonian physics and idea of horizon. A reflection on the development of cosmology in methodological context concludes the article.
