Pozycja Funkcja diakonii w KościeleKamiński, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1990)Ministry means an ancillary attitude of the Church and ecclesial fellowships towards human needs. It is put into practice within the scope of supernatural existence by the apostolate and various forms of pastoral care, and within the sphere of natural existence by charitable pastoral care. Making the Church fellowships more dynamic by reviving in them the Christian ministry plays an important role in the renewal of religious life. Only the ecclcsial fellowship in which there exists the spirit of brotherhood and ministry is adequate to the self-consciousness of the Church obtained at the last Council. It is by exercising the function of ministry that we witness to the authenticism of the life of faith and liturgy. The charitable activity is an essential aspect of ministry which means also an ancillary character of any posts within the Church. Ministry expresses itself in treating any post within the Church as a service for others by bringing help to those in need, and other deeds of love and apostolate. All activities which bear the administrative and organizational character are also ministry. They are necessary to govern the Church. Ministry is a service for all people and the whole man. It has a missionary, oecumenical, social and eschatological character.
