Abstract

Hope is one of the most important phenomena accompanying humanity throughout history and in difficult times. It enables people to believe in a better future, even if the present seems bleak. The Jubilee Year 2025, proclaimed by Pope Francis under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the nature and significance of hope. The Church consistently emphasizes hope as a virtue rooted in Christ. In a world where many voices promote pessimism, indifference, and nihilism, certain philosophers affirm hope as an inalienable attribute of human existence. Within their reflections, hope emerges as a vital attitude that sustains a sense and meaning of life, particularly amid suffering and adversity.
