Abstrakt
On the basis of Z. Gaś’s Family Profile questionnaire an analysis has been made of the sense or family support as a factor increasing the risk of committing penal acts by juveniles. The answer to the study question put by the author has been given basing on a study of 100 boys at the age of 16-18. In the group of the subjects 50 juveniles were separated who committed penal acts and 50 boys who were positively socially adjusted. The basic conclusion from the study is the statement that the subjective sense of family support in juveniles is significantly lower than in the youth who have not violated the penal code. The sense of a low family support in juveniles resulted from significantly lower scores than in boys who were adjusted as far as family cohesion, adaptability and mutual understanding were concerned, and from significantly higher scores in pathological family roles, developmental difficulties in the family and family disintegration.
