Paradoks najwyższej wolności w największym posłuszeństwie według H. U. von Balthasara

Abstract

W artykule tym rozpatrzona zostanie relacja posłuszeństwo – wolność w świetle myśli H. U. von Balthasara. Na przykładzie Maryi szwajcarski teolog zauważa paradoksalne odwrócenie wzajemnej zależności pomiędzy postawą posłuszeństwa a wolnością jednostki. Zazwyczaj zwiększone posłuszeństwo kojarzy się z ograniczeniem wolności, tymczasem według Balthasara Maryja, okazując absolutne posłuszeństwo Bogu, osiąga najwyższy stopień wolności ludzkiej. Zauważoną przez Balthasara zależność autor postara się naświetlić w wymiarze chrystologicznym, a następnie rozważyć jej implikacje w wymiarze uniwersalno-eklezjologicznym, zwracając szczególną uwagę na warunki naśladowania takiej postawy przez ogół chrześcijan, ale również na niebezpieczeństwa i zagrożenia, jakie płyną z błędnego jej rozumienia.

In this article, we consider the relationship between obedience and freedom in the light of the thought of H. U. von Balthasar. On the example of Mary, the Swiss theologian notes the paradoxical reversal of the interdependence between obedience and individual freedom. Usually, the increase of obedience is associated with the restriction of freedom, whereas, according to Balthasar, Mary, showing her absolute obedience to God, attains the highest degree of human freedom. We try to display the relation noticed by Balthasar in the Christological dimension and then consider its implications in the universal-ecclesiological dimension, paying special attention to the conditions of imitating such an attitude by all Christians, but also to the dangers and threats arising from its misunderstanding.
