Abstract

Various initiatives related to catechetical pastoral care aimed at developing faith among children and young people in the parish should include mystagogical catechesis. This performs a significant role in strengthening bonds and sacramental awareness specifically during the formation of children before and after receiving the First Communion. A profound experience of the first full participation in the Eucharist requires constant care from the entire parish community so that primary school children of senior years can foster their communion with Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. For several years Poland has seen calls for enlivening parish catechesis aimed at primary school children, which was recorded in the Core Curriculum of Catechesis of the Catholic Church in Poland in 2010. For this reason, let us gain an insight into some of the essential elements of mystagogical catechesis, new perspectives and solutions as well as goals worth undertaking to support the religious development of children and young people.
