Racjonalność wiary

Abstract

Artykuł stanowi spojrzenie na relację między wiarą i rozumem z perspektywy historycznej. Różni teologowie w patrystyce, średniowieczu i czasach nowożytnych wyrażali swoje przekonania o racjonalności wiary chrześcijańskiej. Wiara i rozum wzmacniają się nawzajem. Rozum, szczególnie rozum filozoficzny, który pyta o ostateczne przeznaczenie świata, otwiera się na wiarę. Wiara z kolei oświeca rozum, by to światło mogło dać nam jakieś głębsze zrozumienie całej egzystencji. W ten sposób teologia ukazuje, że Boże Objawienie jest wiarygodne, godne ludzi jako bytów rozumnych.The article is an insight into the relationship between faith and reason from a historical perspective. Different theologians in the Patristic Era, the Middle Ages and the Modem Times have expressed their convictions about rationality of Christian faith. Faith and reason strengthen one another. Reason, in particular that philosphical one, which asks about ultimate destination of the world, opens itself to faith. Faith in turn enlightens reason so that the light may give us a new understanding of the whole existence. In this way theology shows that God's revelation is credible, worthy of people as rational beings.
