Abstract

The Jasna Góra Appeal is a Marian devotion expressing the entrustment of the children of the Polish Nation to the care and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This prayer is directed to God through the mediation of the Jasna Góra Queen of Poland, who is also the Mother of the Church, thus perfectly highlighting Mary’s role and place in the mystery of Christ and the Church. The Word of God proclaimed during the devotion aims to awaken and strengthen the faith of the faithful. Numerous reflections concerning the defense of human life from conception, delivered within the framework of the Jasna Góra Appeal, enable the Gospel of Life to reach a wide audience and contribute to the formation of a civilization of life and love. In this way, the devotion fosters the common good of Polish society, whose fundamental raison d’être is that human life, from its very beginning, should always be protected, and that marriage and family life should be duly esteemed.
