Abstract

The experience of the attempt on the life John Paul II, on May 13,1981, was thedefinitve moment for the Pope to know the message of Fatima and the proclaim the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary transmitted through the children to the whole world. The Pope was prepared to receive this message because of his private devotion to the Mother of God formed according to St. Louis Maria Grignon de Montfort and his treatise The Perfect devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This devotion was reasummed in the watch-word from his Episcopal coat-of-arms – Totus Tuus (Entire Yours). The Pope John Paul II, living the message of Fatima, confided the whole world to God through the Sacred Heart of Mary accomplishing in this way the desire of Our Lady expressed to the Children of Fatima in the apparitions from 1917. He deed this act in different situations: on June 7, 1981 (Rome), on May 13, 1982 (Fatima), on March 25, 1984 (Rome), on May 13, 1991 (Fatima). Card. Joseph Ratzinger did the interpretation of the provate revelations of Fatima and of the roule of John Paul II in the realizations of the thired mistery of Fatima.
