Mojżesz i srebrne trąbki Izraelitów (Lb 10, 1–10)

Abstract

W niniejszym artykule fragment z Księgi Liczb 10, 1–10, w którym Mojżesz otrzymuje polecenie wykonania dwóch trąbek ( חֲ צֲֹצְֹרְָָה ) ze srebra, został ukazany w perspektywie badawczej uwzględniającej przede wszystkim konteksty biblijny i historyczny, a także archeo-muzykologiczny. W przeciwieństwie do zmitologizowanych relacji pochodzących z różnych obszarów Śródziemnomorza na temat wynalazców i pierwszych konstruktorów instrumentów muzycznych, fragment ten zawiera oryginalne ujęcie genezy aerofonu (Lb 10, 1–2). Ze względu na skromne możliwości melodyczne trąbki ḥǎṣōṣěrâ, podobnie jak ich egipskie pierwowzory šnb, nie były instrumentami muzycznymi sensu stricto. Zazwyczaj posługiwali się nimi kapłani wywodzący się od Aarona oraz lewici. W Księdze Liczb 10, 2–10 znalazły się historycznie wiarygodne informacje technologiczne (Lb 10, 2) oraz rozwinięty profil użytkowy aerofonu (Lb 10, 2–10), który w dużym stopniu odzwierciedla przywoływany materiał porównawczy ze Starego Testamentu (działania wojenne, sakralne uroczystości w Jerozolimie).

In this article a fragment from the Book of Numbers 10:1–10, in which Moses is ordered to make two silver trumpets ( חֲ צֲֹצְֹרְָָה ), has been shown in the research perspective, taking into account, above all, the biblical and historical contexts, as well as archaeo-musicological one. Contrary to the mythologized stories about inventors/ first builders of musical instruments from various areas of the Mediterranean Sea, this fragment contains an original account of the origin of the aerophone (Numbers 10:1–2). Due to their limited melodic capabilities, the ḥǎṣōṣěrâ trumpets, like their Egyptian prototypes šnb, were not musical instruments in the strict sense. They were usually used by priests descended from Aaron and the Levites. Numbers 10:2–10 includes historically reliable technological data (Numbers 10:2) and a developed usage profile of the aerophone (Lb 10:2–10), which is largely reflected in the referenced comparative material from the Old Testament (warfare, sacral celebrations in Jerusalem).
