Uwagi na temat ontologii i pedagogii starości

Abstract

Artykuł przedstawia problem starości z perspektywy personalistycznej. Autor odwołuje się do poglądów i koncepcji dawnych jak i współczesnych myślicieli takich jak Cyceron, J. A. Komeński, E. Erikson, Jan Paweł II, W. Chudy. W rozważaniach rozróżniono dwa znaczenia terminu „starość”: biologiczne (fizyczne) oraz osobowe (moralne, duchowe). Ważnymi elementami kategorii starości są: czasowość, utrata sił i możliwości działania, dystans i refleksja, świadomość zbliżania się do kresu życia, przygotowanie do śmierci. Ważnym aspektem pedagogii starości jest przekroczenie kluczowej opozycji tego okresu: udręka – spełnienie.

The article presents the problem of the old age from the personalistic point of view. (The author refers to the ideas and concepts of the ancient and modern thinkers, such as Cicero, J. A. Komensky, E. Erikson, John Paul II, W. Chudy). First of all, it is necessary to distinguish the two meanings of that term: biological (physical) and personal (moral, spiritual). Important elements of that category include: a sense of temporality, loss of physical strength and possibilities of undertaking activities, distance and reflection, consciousness of the approaching end of life, preparation for death. The main aspect of the pedagogy of the old age is overcoming the crucial opposition of that time: torment – fulfillment.
