Abstract

Humanizm jako ideał wychowania eksponuje wagę integralnego i wszechstronnego rozwoju osobowości wychowanka, odwołującego się do autentycznych wartości. Dla nauk o wychowaniu istotny jest pogląd, że człowiek w obliczu ewoluujących wyzwań, nadziei i zagrożeń pozostaje bytem „niedokończonym”, który nie tyle jest, co ustawicznie staje się, do czegoś aspiruje, dąży. Pytanie o tożsamość jest zawsze pytaniem o istotę danego bytu. Prawdziwa tożsamość człowieka wiąże się z ostatecznym spełnieniem tajemnicy istnienia. Dążenie do rozwoju wymaga ludzi zdolnych do wnikliwej refleksji, poszukujących nowego humanizmu, dzięki któremu człowiek współczesny mógłby odnaleźć samego siebie. Jeżeli popieranie rozwoju wymaga coraz większej liczby techników, to jeszcze bardziej domaga się ono ludzi mądrych, zdolnych do głębokiej refleksji, do poszukiwania nowego humanizmu, który by pozwolił nowoczesnemu człowiekowi odnaleźć samego siebie. Nowy humanizm – jak podkreśla Jan Paweł II – jest punktem spotkania wiary z rozumem, jest zwornikiem łączącym chrześcijaństwo z nowożytnością. Wielkie wyzwanie zatem, jakie w sferze badawczej, dydaktycznej, wychowawczej, staje przed nami dzisiaj, to formowanie ludzi nie tylko kompetentnych w swej specjalizacji, czasem wąskiej, bogatych w encyklopedyczną wiedzę, ale nade wszystko w autentyczną mądrość.

Humanism as an ideal of upbringing exposes the significance of integral and broad development of a pupil’s personality, appealing to authentic values. In case of sciences related to upbringing, the view that a man in the face of evolving challenges, hopes and threats is still an “unfinished” human being who does not only exist but changes constantly, aspires for something and aims at something, is very important. A question about identity is always a question about the essence of the existence. A real identity of a man is related to the ultimate fulfillment of mystery of the existence. Aiming at development requires talented people with deep afterthoughts who look for new humanism that enables a contemporary person to find themselves. If support of development requires more and more technicians, it needs even more wise people, who are capable of deep afterthoughts and of looking for new humanism that enables a contemporary person to find themselves. New humanism is a platform where faith and mind meet, it is a keystone combining Christianity and modern era. It means that today we face a great challenge in the research, didactic and education areas to form people who are not only complete in their specialties, sometimes narrow ones, full of encyclopaedic knowledge, but first of all, full of authentic wisdom.
