Abstract

The article discusses following issues: Some heroes of fantasy literature are in type of messiah and savior of created fantasy worlds. They show typical values of these worlds, typical systems of religious thinking about reality, and relations between creatures and gods. They are ‘chosen-ones’ destined to unusual things, difficult tasks, and to fight against monsters and enemies. This type of character is very important for fabulous themes of fantasy. The specific messiah-hero is a king – this type of character is hiding mythical structures. The kings are guardians of cosmology harmony and order. They have godlike powers of creating new laws, better governments, more humanitarian times. Kings are the most characteristical types of messianic heroes in the fantasy literature. So the cultural hero from ancient myths who saves humans kinds and worlds in catastrophic stories is still living in modem fantasy novels. The fantasy is like a modem myth. In the stories about adventures of heroes, readers can find answers about life and virtues. The religious systems of the fantasy worlds are different from but in every of them are live ideas of death and life, resurrection and salvation. Time periods in every hero’s life are similar to the stories about saving worlds in religious myths. Fantasy literature is serious partner for scientific reflection about more important problems of our spirituality and religious life. Because the fantasy gives us sings about spiritual reality.
