Powszechne powołanie do świętości i jego realizacja w życiu wybranych świętych

Abstract

Bóg jest niepojęty w swym majestacie i chwale. W Starym Testamencie Świętym w najwyższym stopniu jest Bóg. Święty jest Bóg, lecz świętymi są również związani z Nim ludzie i rzeczy. Idea świętości może zawierać w sobie nadto element poświęcenia Bogu i uwolnienia od tego, co złe lub niewłaściwe. W Nowym Testamencie kontynuowana jest idea świętości występującą w judaizmie. Święty jest Bóg, świątynia i Prawo. Doświadczenie świętości jest, tak w ogólnej historii religii, jak i w Izraelu, pewnym prazjawiskiem religijnym; świętości bowiem, jako określonego pojęcia, nie można wyprowadzać z jakiejkolwiek innej ludzkiej skali wartości. W człowieku z jednej strony spotyka się łaska Boża, która buduje na naturze i z drugiej strony wolna wola człowieka. Jedynie w pełnej wolności człowiek może odpowiedzieć na wezwanie Boga, który powołuje go do świętości. Pytanie tylko czy człowiek chce być święty i zaufać Bogu? Wybrałam tylko kilku świętych, którzy bezgranicznie zaufali Bogu i w pełnej wolności odpowiedzieli Bogu tak. Święci, różnych epok: Maria Magdalena; Łotr powieszony obok Jezusa na krzyżu, Paweł z Tarsu; Augustyn; Tomasz z Akwinu; Faustyna; Edyta Stein; Jan Paweł II. Różnili się praktycznie wszystkim ale łączyło ich jedno spotkanie z Chrystusem, które w każdym przypadku wyglądało inaczej. Jednak każda z tych osób po tym spotkaniu zmieniła swój sposób myślenia, patrzenia i postępowania, które zjednoczyło ich z Chrystusem.

God is inconceivable in his authority and glory. In the Old Testament God is the holliest. He is holy as well as the people and things that are connected with him.The concept of holiness may contain the element of sacrifice to God and the release of what is bad and inapropriate. In the New Testament the idea of holiness present in Judaism is continued. God is holy as well as the Temple and the Law. The experience of holiness is a religious phenomenon in universal history of religion as well as in Israel. Holiness as a defined concept cannot be formulated from any human scale of values. On one hand there is God’s grace based on the nature in every human being, on the other hand his free will. Only in his full freedom can one respond to God’s call as he relies to holiness. The question is whether the man wants to be holy and trust God. I have chosen only a few saints who trusted God absolutely and said yes to him in their absolute freedom. The saints of various ages: Mary Magdalene, the villain crucified with Jesus Christ, Paul of Tarsus, St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Faustina, Edita Stein and John Paul II. They were different in almost everything but what unites them is the encounter with Christ- exceptional in each case. However each of the people mentioned after the encounter changed their way of thinking, looking and acting. That united them with Christ.
