Abstract

Coraz częściej słychać, że religie są brutalne i promują przemoc. W niektórych mediach ta formuła przyjęła wręcz wartość mantry. Jest to wygodne wyjście, które pozwala uniknąć zadawania zbyt wielu pytań na temat konkretnej religii. W ostatnim czasie przestępstwa są popełniane najczęściej w imię islamu, w każdym razie w jednej z jego postaci. W celu uniknięcia lęku przed islamem, stosuje się wygodną taktykę polegającą na nieokreślaniu konkretnej religii czyli islamu, ale mówieniu w liczbie mnogiej o religiach. Formuła, która łączy przemoc i religię, powinna i musi zostać poprawiona. Nie można stosować religii jako jedynego czynnika ukazującego źródła przemocy. The formula that combines violence and religion should and must be improved. The religion cannot be used as the only factor that shows the source of violence. Sources of violence should also be sought in other aspects of human life, which accompany humanity almost everywhere and almost always, and which can also have their share in responsibility. These other aspects are more frequent reason for violence than religious elements. One should also avoid putting all religions on the same religious plane, teaching as if all religions preach the same doctrines and recommend the same practices. You have to be careful not to confuse a given religion with people who profess it, but do not follow the rules and motivations given by their religion. If we obey these rules, more nuanced and true picture regarding the relationship between religion and violence will be disclosed.
