Słuchając świadka. Zbigniewa Herberta dziedziczenie europejskiej tradycji

Abstract

The most im portant cultural point of article for the theological discourse has been the creation of Zbigniew Herbert (1924-1998), Polish poet, essayist, and playwright, one of the most outstanding representatives of Mediterranean civilization. The contact with a single work of culture (here: Herbert’s creation) can be seen as the introduction to the acceptance of faith – its reinforcement, strengthening, deepening and proclaiming. The article shows the all-present and theologically very precious threads; it describes Herbert’s interpretation of tradition, culture and history. It displays the relationships between Herbert’s literary masterpiece and the Christian culture.
