Proklamacja Słowa Bożego w dobie Wielkiego Jubileuszu chrześcijaństwa

Abstract

This article is a kind of report which was delivered during the Pauline Jubilee Prayer Vigil in the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Jasna Góra in March o 2000. Two chapters of a circular letter titled “The priest and the third Christian Millennium teacher of the Word, Minister of the Sacraments and Leader of the Community”, published by Congregation for the Clergy in March 19th 1999, was used in this report. The first one, titled “In the service of New Evangelization”, reminds the truth that evangelization is the task of the whole Church. However priests are to play the necessary and indispensable role in it. In the second chapter, titled “Teachers of the Word”, you can find a deep pastoral reflection on efficiency of proclaiming of the Word of God, which priests proclaim “in the name of Christ and His Church”. These considerations compose a cogitative and meditative set which gave participants of the Prayer Vigil good opportunity to realize a few pastoral matters, as for example that there is no sense in preaching which does not form believers permanently and leads them into practicing of sacraments. The report accentuates the truth that redeeming activity of Jesus drives at two inseparable aims. The first one, which can be named an intellectual aim, says about teaching and leading people to conversion. Stirring hearts of listeners to regret and penance, and initiating them to acceptation of God’s forgiveness is the second aim. The circular letter contains in his conclusion a very beautiful invocation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The last sequence of the invocation, which all Paulines have very much at heart, was cited on the whole in this report. This sequence refers to the evangelical event at Cana in Galilee.
