Profetyczny charakter karmelitańskiego eremityzmu – duchowość eliańska i maryjna

Abstract

Pokolenia karmelitów i karmelitanek bosych rozpoznają w sobie prorocki charyzmat Eliasza, którego uważają za swojego ojca, a jednocześnie odczuwają bardzo silną, filialną więź z Najświętszą Maryją Panną z Góry Karmel – Kwiatem i Ozdobą Karmelu, Gwiazdą morza, Matką miłosierdzia i Królową. Istotą pustelniczego i prorockiego charyzmatu Karmelu jest nieustanne, miłosne i poufne obcowanie z Bogiem, dawanie świadectwa o Bogu żywym i rozpalenie się gorliwością o Jego chwałę na wzór proroka Eliasza oraz całkowite należenie do Maryi. W duchowości karmelitańskiej wypełnia się testament pierwszego przeora z Góry Karmel, który chciał, aby karmelici ukształtowali swoje życie na wzór Maryi i Eliasza.Generations of Carmelites recognize in themselves prophetic charism of Elias, whom they regard as their father. And simultaneously, they feel very strong filial relation to Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel – Flower and Décor of Carmel, Star of the See, Mother of Mercy and Queen of Carmel. An essence of the eremitical and prophetic charism of Carmel is habitual, loving and intimate being with the Lord, being the witness of living God (cf. Kgs 2:6), zeal for the glory of God (cf. Kgs 17:1;4) on the model of Elias the Prophet, and being wholly Mary’s. In the Carmelite spirituality fulfils testament of the first prior of Mount Carmel who wanted Carmelites to form their life on the model of Holy Mary and Elias.
