Die Wiederentdeckung der Bedeutung der Gebetsformel per Christum durch Josef Andreas Jungmann

Abstract

Już w Nowym Testamencie poświadczona modlitewna formuła per Christum – „przez Chrystusa” do IV w. należała do wspólnego dziedzictwa liturgicznego wszystkich chrześcijan. Geneza i znaczenie tej wyrażającej pośrednictwo Chrystusa w liturgicznej modlitwie formuły zostały gruntownie przebadane zarówno w aspekcie historycznym, jak i teologicznym przez J.A. Jungmanna. Wkład tego uczonego w ponowne odkrycie roli formuły per Christum jest przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu. Najpierw omówiono w nim niektóre wyniki wnikliwych badań historycznych przeprowadzonych przez Jungmanna, a następnie przedstawiono jego teologiczne interpretacje formuły. W ostatniej części została podjęta próba oceny badawczych dokonań Jungmanna.

The per Christum – “through Christ” – prayer formula, already authenticated in the New Testament, was part of the common liturgical heritage of all Christians until the 4th century. The genesis and meaning of this formula, which expresses Christ’s mediation in liturgical prayer, were thoroughly scrutinized both in historical and theological terms by J.A. Jungmann. The contribution of this scientist to the rediscovery of the role of the per Christum formula is the subject of this article. At the outset it discusses some of Jungmann’s insightful historical research results, and then presents his theological interpretations of the formula. The last part is an attempt to evaluate Jungmann’s research achievements.
