Abstrakt
The subject of this study is the Biblical Commentary on the Encyclical Letter Ecclesia de Eucharistia. The article is divided into two parts: (1) Joy of the presence of Christ until the end of the world, (2) Mysterium paschale. In the beginning of the Encyclical Letter John Paul II says: “In a variety of ways Church joyfully experiences the constant fulfillment of the promise: ‘I am with you always, to the very end of the age’ (Mt 28:20)”. Joy and expectation of the end of the age makes the essential climate for the lives of Christians. The mystery of the Holy Eucharist is the core of Christian life. John Paul II wishes to recall the last Supper and restore it within its historical setting in order that one may understand the significance of the words which Our Lord pronounced at it, and the meaning of the actions he performed there. Holy Father says “For the most Holy Eucharist contains the Church's entire spiritual wealth: Christ himself, our passover and living bread. Through his own flesh, now made living and life-giving by the Holy Spirit, he offers life to men”. Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist because he wished to remain with people until the end of the world, not only through the presence of his Spirit, but also of his Body.
