Abstrakt

How many theology is needed in Europe? – this is a question about God and a question about our responsibility for thinking service in the Church in Europe. Polish history has his own place in Europe not only in historical and economical way, but also in spiritual influences, as exchange of thought among the monasteries, shrines and universities through the centuries. Here, in Poland worked many famous scientists, philosophers, theologians, artists, writers, Nobel prizewinners, mystics and humanists. Here, in Poland, strikes of heart of European culture. Europe needs religion and theology, but sometimes does it like as supermarket of ideas and values with many possibilities and choices: this is acceptable, that is not acceptable. Religion is not a private area of human being, because of man is homo religiosus, so it wanted to be manifested in every possible way in public life of all European nations. So more important is question: What kind of theology is needed in Europe? Answer is very short, true theology, authentic knowledge of God, who reveal himself as God and as a man for all men. Theology has its own identity and is separately discipline of science. Theology is not only a “antropological need” or “very rich language” and is not possible to reduce it only to social relations, utilitarian ethic and arational esoteric. Modern theology is ill, weak in subject and finding solutions of human problems. Reveal truth and human life must be connected with Jesus Christ. Against this theology put attention for more and more complicate psychosocial discussions and moral battles, forgetting where is a mosquito and where is an elephant. Today theology must answer for human problems in request of God in context of modern culture.
