Abstract

Artykuł dotyczy sensu ludzkiego cierpienia w kontekście uczestnictwa w zbawczym cierpieniu Jezusa Chrystusa. O tym sensie cierpienia pisze Jan Paweł II w dokumencie Salvifici doloris. Zbawczy sens cierpienia nie zmienia faktu, że jest ono złem i należy mu się przeciwstawiać. Cierpienie należy jednak postrzegać w kontekście przyszłej chwały i wykorzystywać je dla królestwa Bożego. Cierpienia ludzkie dopełniają cierpień Chrystusa. W cierpieniu człowiek zostaje wezwany do przekraczania samego siebie. Cierpienie innych ludzi powinno wyzwalać w człowieku miłość i gotowość udzielenia pomocy.This paper concerns the meaning of human suffering in the context of participation in the redemptive suffering of Jesus Christ. John Paul II writes about this meaning of suffering in his Apostolic Letter Salvifici doloris. The redemptive meaning of suffering does not change the fact that it is evil and must be opposed. Suffering, however, should be seen in the context of future glory and must be used for the Kingdom of God. Human sufferings complete the sufferings of Christ. In suffering, the man is called to transcend himself. The suffering of others should trigger love and willingness to provide help in the man.
