Niektóre zagrożenia cywilizacji chrześcijańskiej w kontekście nowej ewangelizacji

Abstract

The author points out the most important ‒ in his opinion ‒ menaces to the Christian civilization. He not only mentions them by names, but he also endeavours to give their characterizations in the context of the present efforts of the R. C. Church, which are labeled as the New Evangelization. At the same time these efforts are attempts to sensibilize lay Catholics to necessity of prayer and suitable practical attitude to the present menaces. The menaces are some kind of challenges to the New Evangelization, which Pope John Paul II makes appeals for. The most fundamental cultural menaces, although, surely not the only ones, flow on the communism side, from ethical relativism, sectarianism, Freemasonry and the New Age. The mentioned mental trends, organizations and movements make ‒ in the author's opinion ‒ coersion of the human spirit. Within the pastoral notices the article contains valuable recommendations with regards to attitudes of all Catholics towards the menaces discussed here. Followers of Christ can not enter upon a fight against people who "think differently" in order to destroy them as enemies. These kind of actions would be contradictory to the spirit of the Gospel. Christians should "fight" with them in the way which helps them to convert, which means to become fascinated by the person of Jesus Christ and to accept His Good News.
