Abstract

Kapłan na mocy święceń zostaje upodobniony do Jezusa, Dobrego Pasterza, i powołany do naśladowania Go oraz przeżywania Jego miłości pasterskiej, bezinteresownej, miłości, która kieruje się zwłaszcza ku najbiedniejszym i sytuuje wobec nich w postawie służebnej. Przyjęcie tej postawy jest znakiem przyjęcia odpowiedzialności, jaką nakłada na kapłana Boże wybranie, a zarazem jest znakiem potwierdzenia tej pasterskiej miłości.Through ordination priest becomes like Jesus–the Good Shepherd–and is called up to imitate Him and experience and cherish His pastoral love that is unbiased, excludes nobody, is especially directed towards the poorest and positions itself in a servant attitude towards them. Acceptance of this attitude is a sign of accepting responsibility that is put on the priest by the God’s election and, at the same time, a sign of confirmation of this pastoral love.
