Abstrakt
Thomas Elias Beran was born on October 24th, 1683 in Prague. He entered the Dominican Convent of St Aegidius in Prague on July 14th, 1699 and made his first profession the following year, on July 14th. He completed his studies in Prague and Bologna, earning a lecturing degree in 1710, baccalaureate (praesentatus) in 1716 and Master of Theology in 1724. He taught at studium in České Budějovice (1710–1712), at studium generale in Prague (1712–1714), at studium formale in the Convent of St Mary Magdalene in Prague (1714–1717), at studium in Znojmo (1717) and at studium formale in Brno (1717– 1719). He held offices of magister studentium (1719–1721), baccalaureus (1722–1723) and regens (1723–1725) in studium generale in Prague. He was Prior of the Convent of St Aegidius in Prague (1725–1728), Prior Provincial of the Bohemian Dominican Province (1732–1736), Prior of the Convent of St Mary Magdalene in Prague (1737–1739) and Socius of the General Master. He died on August 30th, 1742 in the Convent of St Aegidius in Prague.
