Abstrakt

In this article I would like to present atheism problems by focusing on John Paul II statements. He distinguishes four forms of atheism and each one is reflected in everyday reality. These are: - scientific atheism, - humanistic atheism, - practical atheism, - atheism as a form of protest against evil. Analysis of Pope’s statements clearly shows that atheism denies the idea of God. Whatever form it expresses, it has nothing in common with Gospel God. Forms of atheism discussed in this article rely on the theory based on false picture of God and wrong interpretation of human nature. Review of present-day attitude towards faith and one’s own life depicts that atheism is hidden under so many shapes and atheistic belief affects so many areas of life that even believers themselves do not notice this occurrence. Therefore the return to Jesus and faith strengthening is the only answer to risks brought by atheism.
