Moc słowa – błogosławieństwo i złorzeczenie

Abstract

Religia jest zjawiskiem odrębnym od wszelkich innych przejawów kulturowych i psychicznych. Jest działem kultury obejmującym dziedzinę poznania opartego na wierze nadprzyrodzonej, zachowania człowieka (kult, postępowanie moralne) i instytucje (Kościół). Język sacrum, rozumiany jako język religijny w węższym znaczeniu, charakterystyczny jest dla wypowiedzi, którymi poszczególni ludzie lub całe społeczności dają wyraz swemu kontaktowi z sacrum, kontaktowi, w którym mogą być zaangażowane zarówno uczucia, jak też rozum, intuicja i wola. Tę odrębność sacrum i profanum odzwierciedla język, który funkcjonuje w obrębie danej religii. Istotną właściwością języka religijnego jest obecność wartościowania. Wiara łączy się z uznaniem wartości i antywartości transcendentnych oraz zajęciem określonej postawy moralnej. Biblia bardzo poważnie traktuje moc słowa – najpierw Bożego, a później ludzkiego. Słowo (gr. logos) w mentalności semickiej było traktowane jako coś, co człowiek wypowiada i co jest nośnikiem informacji. Bóg słowem stworzył świat. Analogicznie słowo człowieka, stworzonego na obraz Boga, mogło skutkować szczęściem lub nieszczęściem. Słowo sprawiało to, co znaczyło. Człowiek został stworzony do panowania nad światem, czyli – w biblijnym znaczeniu – do wzięcia odpowiedzialności za niego, co ma ogromne znaczenie. Ludzkie słowo może budować, podnosić, dodawać sił – błogosławić, ale też może być wręcz złorzeczeniem.

Religion as such is a phenomenon quite different from all other cultural and psychological manifestations. It is a branch of culture covering the field of cognition based on supernatural faith, human behaviour (worship, moral values and moral conduct) and institutions (the Church). The language of “sacrum”, understood as a religious language in the narrower sense, is characteristic for the expression by which individual people or whole communities articulate their contact with “sacrum”, a contact in which both feelings and reason, intuition and will can be involved. This separateness of “sacrum” and “profanum” is reflected in the language that functions within almost every religion. An essential appropriateness of religious language is the presence of evaluation. Faith is connected with the recognition of transcendental values and anti-values and the taking of a specific moral attitude. The Bible takes very seriously the power of the word, first God’s and then man’s as well. The “word” (Greek “logos”) in the Semitic mentality was treated as something that a man expresses and which is also a certain shipper (carrier) of information. God created the whole world with a power of His word. Similarly, the word of a human being, created in the image of God, could result in happiness or unhappiness. The word figure out what it meant. The human was created to rule over the world, that is – in the biblical sense – to take responsibility for it, which is of great importance. A human word can build, lift and give strength – what means blessing, but it can also be a curse.
