Księgi metrykalne Parafii Rzymskokatolickiej pw. św. Stanisława Biskupa Męczennika w Cerekwi z lat 1784-1918 ‒ stan zachowania

Abstract

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie stanu zachowania zasobu metrykalnego parafii pw. św. Stanisława Biskupa i Męczennika w Cerekwi, znajdującej się na obszarze diecezji radomskiej w województwie mazowieckim, ok. 10 km na północ od centrum Radomia. Wzrastające zainteresowanie badaniami przeszłości własnej rodziny wymaga korzystania z różnorodnych archiwaliów. Znakomitym źródłem informacji przydatnych w takich badaniach są metryki chrztów, ślubów oraz zgonów. Większość takich źródeł przechowywana jest w archiwach parafialnych, diecezjalnych oraz państwowych. Na obszarze diecezji radomskiej najdawniejsze metryki znajdują się wyłącznie w archiwach parafialnych, do których dostęp jest utrudniony. Wychodząc naprzeciw tym potrzebom, a będąc świadom istniejących trudności, władze diecezji radomskiej podjęły decyzję o całkowitej digitalizacji tego zbioru. W artykule opisano metryki parafii pw. św. Stanisława Biskupa i Męczennika w Cerekwi z diecezji radomskiej oraz dzieje tych zasobów na tle historii powszechnej, zwracając szczególną uwagę na jego przekształcenia na przestrzeni dziejów oraz przydatność w badaniach genealogicznych. Metryki znajdujące się w parafii zostały zdigitalizowane, ich fizyczne egzemplarze znajdują się w archiwum parafialnym, natomiast cyfrowe kopie w utworzonej specjalnie w tym celu pracowni, w budynku dawnej kancelarii na cmentarzu rzymskokatolickim w Radomiu przy ul. Limanowskiego. Najstarsze zachowane pochodzą z roku 1654 (chrztów i małżeństw) oraz z 1717 (zmarłych). Udostępnione zostały te, od których zamknięcia nie upłynęło 100 lat (chrzty) oraz 80 lat dla ślubów i zgonów.

This paper aims at presenting the state of preservation of the paper registers of births, marriages and deaths in the Parish of Saint Stanislaus the Martyr in the village of Cerekiew, located in the Radom’s Diocese, within the Mazovia Viovodeship, Poland. Cerekiew lies 10 kilometers to the north of Radom. The increasing interest in a family history observed among various people requires a usage of various archival sources. One of the best source of information are paper register of birth, marriages and deaths in churches (parish registers). Most of these registers are located in parish, diocesan or state archives. In the Radom’s Diocese the oldest parish registers are kept in the parish archives, where the access is limited. Both the expectations of people interested in family history as well as problems with access were identified by the church authorities of the Radom’s Diocese and led to the decision regarding the preparation of digital copies of the whole collection. This article describes parish registers from the Parish of Saint Stanislaus the Martyr in the village of Cerekiew , in the Radom’s Diocese as well as history of those registers in the context of general history. Special attention was devoted to the evolution of the parish collection in the past and to its usefulness for genealogical research. Cerekiew’s parish registers have their digital copies located in a special reading room, which was built exclusively for this purpose in the building of the former cemetery administrative office at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Radom, located at Limanowskiego Street. Originals of the parish registers are kept at the parish archive in Cerekiew. The oldest registers come from the year 1654 (the register of births and baptisms) and from the year 1717 (register of deaths). Registers made available for the readers are at least 100 years old (register of births and baptisms) and at least 80 years old in case of registers of marriages and deaths.
