Pozycja Święty Winfryd-Bonifacy – „Discipulus Romanae Ecclesiae”Śrutwa, Jan (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1996)During his second stay in Rome in 722, St. Wynfrid-Boniface, English by birth, was consecrated bishop by Pope Gregory II (715-731) and took an oath of allegiance to the Apostolic Seat. As a missionary among German peoples and a reformer of Church in the Kingdom of Franks, St. Boniface rendered his services to the unity of the Christian Europe of Middle Ages. He lived and worked in very turbulent times, which were obviously unpropitious for Papacy. Strenghtened with deep faith till the end of his life (5 VI 754), St. Boniface kept in contact with the four successive popes, consulted them about all major issues, and emphasized humbly that he was a disciple of the Roman Church.
