Pozycja „Taka jest nasza wiara”Kowalczyk, Marian (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2011)The article, entitled Such is our faith, refers directly to the words contained in the Ritual of the sacrament of baptism. In the first place we are concentrating on faith as the fruit of an undeserved gift of God and cooperation of man. This thesis finds support from the Church Fathers, especially from St. Augustine, who teaches that even the beginning of salvation is the act of grace: „Faith, which makes us Christians, is a gift of God”, even though it requires our cooperation. The cooperation of a person with God’s gift o f faith is presented in the paragraph entitled, The righteous one lives by faith. These words have been borrowed from St. Paul, for whom – as well as for the whole Bible – the word „righteous” is a synonym of the word „holy”, meaning good in a heroic degree. It indicates that faith is, on the side of God, a call to perfect love, which fully is the Triune God (cf. Benedict XVI, Encyclical Deus caritas est). The next paragraph shows the testimony of our faith in the postmodern environment, deprived of solid knowledge of God and man. The crowning of the argument is the demonstration of the saving dimension of our faith.
