Understanding the significance of suffering is only possible in the context of Christ’s cross. A particular form of suffering are stigmata, invisible and visible, which enable a unique connection with the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross. In suffering, Christ’s cross is a sign of hope. It is a place of Sacrifice and Victory. It also has numerous prefigurations that reinforce and clarify its significance and, at the same time, the significance of suffering.
Stygmaty jako dar i wyzwanie

Stigmata point to Christ’s cross and are related to suffering. A stigmatic is a man of suffering and therefore stigmata sometimes require heroism. They are also a testimony to the truth about the passion of Jesus Christ as Redeemer. They are an experience of Christ’s wounds too. The first stigmatic was St. Francis of Assisi. Today, the most famous stigmatic is Brother Elia.
