Pozycja In die tribulationis. Święcenia kapłanów dla diecezji lubelskiej w okresie drugiej wojny światowejMarczewski, Jarosław R. (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2017)Poważnym problemem, przed jakim stanęła diecezja lubelska w okresie II wojny światowej, było uzupełnianie kadry duchowieństwa. W początkowym okresie wojny lubelskie seminarium pozostawało zamknięte. Biskupi zostali aresztowani i wywiezieni z Lublina. W tych okolicznościach trzeba było nadzwyczajnych starań, aby kontynuować formację seminarzystów i doprowadzić ich do święceń. Już po wkroczeniu Niemców do Lublina we wrześniu 1939 r. udało się lubelskiemu biskupowi pomocniczemu Władysławowi Goralowi wyświęcić kilku alumnów w kościele seminaryjnym. Następnie w 1940 r. przybył do Lublina biskup pomocniczy diecezji pińskiej Karol Niemira, który wyświęcił dużą grupę alumnów. W 1941 r. jeden alumn został wyświęcony w Wilnie. Pewna regularność zapanowała dopiero w latach 1941-1944. Wtedy to seminarzyści jeździli małymi zespołami do Nowego Sącza, gdzie przebywał internowany biskup diecezji lubelskiej Marian Leon Fulman, i w sekrecie otrzymywali od niego święcenia w prywatnej kaplicy na plebanii. Ten sam biskup, już po zakończeniu okupacji niemieckiej, ale jeszcze przed zakończeniem wojny w 1945 r., wkrótce po powrocie do Lublina wyświęcił jeszcze jednego alumna w swojej kaplicy biskupiej. Łącznie w czasie trwania II wojny światowej wyświęconych zostało dla diecezji lubelskiej 58 kapłanów.
