The article presents the origins, history and subject matter of twelve interdisciplinary research seminars collectively titled Science – Religion – History, which were held in Castel Gandolfo in the presence of John Paul II from 1980 to 2003. It also contains quotations of the Holy Father referring to those seminars and a discussion of selected aspects of the relationship between science and religion.
