Pozycja Selbstbestimmtes Leben im Pflegeheim – eine flankierende Pflegeheimethik aus theologisch-ethischer Motivation und PerspektiveSchlögl-Flierl, Kerstin; Heutling, Pia (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)A concept of nursing home ethics is presented based on the results of the interdisciplinary research and practice project “Self-determined life in the nursing home” at the University of Augsburg. This nursing home ethics consists of both a care-ethical and an organisational-ethical strand. The results of the cooperating social science studies are reflected ethically. The concept of relational self-determination has proven to be viable in order to meet the needs and wishes of those living in the nursing home, but also of those working there. The starting point for the nursing home ethics outlined here is the vulnerability of the residents – particularly evident in the Coronavirus pandemic – which is understood as both a risk and a resource. In the research process, questions concerning the ‘small’ ethics of everyday life were developed as well as larger ethical questions, for example, about the use of technology in this place of living and working.
