Stefana Kard. Wyszyńskiego w Bydgoszczy, 2014)Gregorian chant remains a priceless treasure of the Church’s heritage and sacred culture. This is also a form of prayer in the Church and its remarkable embellishment. It was Gregorian chant that provided a significant inspiration for the output of Peter Eben, one of the foremost Czech composers of the late 20th and early 21nd centuries. His Missa Adventus et Quadragesimae perfectly corresponds with the main principles of medieval Gregorian singing, which the article author demonstrates in her analysis of the work.
