The article attempts to demonstrate the adequacy of those activities of the state-controlled Voluntary Labour Corps (Polish OHP) which are aimed at the preparation for social and marital life of young people taking part in the institution’s activities. The major part presents the historical process of OHP establishment, the institution’s legal framework and activities designed to provide youth with education and resocialization. The final section reveals young people’s opinions on marriage, which is a life perspective for them.
