The study considers the evolution of the locution “Byzantine Slavonic rite” coined in the 1930s to refer to the liturgical tradition of the Neo-Union in Poland and the formative and pastoral responses offered by the Holy See to the Unionist movement. Special attention is given to the Roman edition of liturgical books in Church Slavonic and its pre-ecumenical insights.
