These communities could not continue their activities after the Refonnation. They returned, however, and came to life slowly and gradually, simultaneously with the advancing religious tolerance. As of today, many orders in the Catholic Church are committed to social and pastoral challenges on Swedish soil, both in the Catholic communities and in broader social circles.
