Since the Second Vatican Council, theology has also been more open to cooperation with other sciences, not only with the human, but also with the various disciplines of empirical science. The interdisciplinary openness of theology raises a number of questions. Does a theologian should listen to the voices of proponents of other sciences when their research disciplines have little or no interest in them? Does theology have something to say to the other sciences in interdisciplinary dialogue? Can the interdisciplinary profile of theology help to create an integral concept of man and the world? Can interdisciplinary research in theology contribute to the transmission of faith in a scientifically shaped worldview? The author gives a positive answer to the questions posed, arguing for the need to take into account interdisciplinarity in theological reflection. As justification, he gives three reasons resulting from the conducted analyses: firstly, interdisciplinarity in theological research as a way out of the one-dimensional scientific paradigm; secondly, interdisciplinarity as a possibility of a holistic view of nature and man; thirdly, interdisciplinarity as a new mode of faith accountability in a worldview shaped by natural science.Pozycja Eucharistie als Quelle für den karitativen Einsatz der KircheAnderwald, Andrzej (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2020)How can the charitable work of the Church be saved from secularization and suppressing references to God? The liturgical constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium of the Second Vatican Council designates the Eucharist as the source and culmination of Christian life and the centre of life for the whole Church (No. 10). Because of this, and in order not to lose the Christian character of the church’s commitment to charity, but rather to let it emerge even more, it seems important to return to this source of Christian life. Even more; it is about rediscovering the connections between the Eucharist and the charitable service of the Church. This sets the goal of the considerations. This is a relevant issue to the Christian faith. Its justification is made today in a climate of scientific thinking, in which scientific tools of recognising of the world, as well as the scientific picture of the world play an important role. This article will demonstrate in sequence: (1) the need for dialogue between the Church and science; (2) the methodological considerations, and (3) topics of this dialogue.
