    Objawienie jako kryterium określenia relacji między religiami

    The subject of the foregoing article is a problem of an adequate criterion for the research religions in their multiplicity and diversity. The analysis of the standpoint of the relative pluralism indicates insufficiency and even faultiness of this kind of attitude towards religions and mutual relations between them. Theology of religion that is based on the premises of trinity and ecclesiology and that accept the revelation as the explanation the origin of religion, recognizes this criterion in the revelation. Religion is comprehended as vital relation to God which is the consequence of recognizing and accepting the revelation which is included in creation and takes part in history. Revelation as a criterion and grounds for defining of relations between religions makes the research into genuinity of religions possible and enables, their adequate comparison and explanation of their savoir possibility. This criterion respects the methodological postulate of theological character and universality which is the result of the concept of religion and its origins in generality. The recognition of multiplicity of circumstance which accompany the forming of a concrete religion seems to sufficiently explain the different degrees of existence of revelation in religions and its mix with natural elements, complexity and development of doctrine and similarity and differences between them.

    Frequent information in the media about offences of the Catholic clergy without mentioning similar misdeeds of laity makes one challenge the Church’s claim of holiness and demand expulsion of a sinner from her. This article shows a theological, i.e. the original understanding of the Church holiness, which consists in the presence of Christ in her and of his grace which sanctifies sinners. The requirement of highly ethical Christian behaviour is only the consequence of baptismal grace – and in its realism – means growth in grace and constant conversion. Fundamentality of this baptismal relationship with the Church lasts despite sins of the baptized but it implies their attitude of constant conversion. The notion “sinful Church” does not exclude her holiness as it expresses the truth that – like Christ – she is indeed burdened and carries the faults of her members. A derivative of the Church historical dimension is a constant and regular need to verify and renew her structures, taking into account pastoral fruitfulness.

    Niniejsze uwagi (minirecenzja) dotyczą znaczenia rzeczywistości religii i jej funkcji w użyciu prelegenta oraz aplikacji ich do oceny aktualnej sytuacji Kościoła i prognozowania jego przyszłego losu (kształtu). Posługiwanie się religioznawczym w istocie pojęciem religii i dołączana kontradykcja religii i wiary wraz z wiodącą tezą o przekształcaniu się wiary w religijność mają nie tylko deskryptywny charakter, ale implikują także – niestety nie uwzględniane przez prelegenta rozróżnianie płaszczyzny teologicznej i religioznawczej – praktyczne konkluzje.
