Garampiego z lat 1773/74 jako podstawa źródłowa do badań nad studiami zakonnymi i ich organizacjąFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1989)As il well known, the problem of intellectual formation of the clergy became particularly pressing in the post-tridentine period, when it was necessary to undertak e religious renewal and defend the Church doctrine, attącked by the Reformation. To find out about the formation and aducation received in those days by members of religious order groups or individual religious orders, we have to examine their internal study systems. The standard of religious studies can be judged by many different criteria, of which two eppear to be particularly important: the curriculum and the organization and structure of the studies. It turns out that much interesting information on the organization and structure of studies in some religious orders, information of a type that is hardly ever found in other kinds of sources, can be obtained from the so-called investigation of religious orders by nuncio G. Garampi, conducted in Poland in the years 1773-1774 (the source is familiar to historians and has been used on some earlier occasions). Among the eleven questions nuncio Garampi addresed to the provincials there were two dealing with religious studies. One concerned the priests who were members of the teaching staffs, the other the seminary students. As some answers went beyond the scope of these questions, the materials contain much valuable information on the organization and structure of religious studies. The present article analyzes the information and assesses its value for the historian.Pozycja Działalność pastoralna oraz edukacyjno-kulturalna jezuitów na Lubelszczyźnie w epoce przedrozbiorowejFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2004)With the use of the recently published Encyklopedia wiedzy o jezuitach na ziemiach Polski i Litwy 1564-1995 (L. Grzebień /ed./, Cracow 1996) and of the relevant subject literature, the author presents the Jesuits’ pastoral and educational-cultural work in the historical Lublin region, from the moment they settled there to the dissolution of the Order in 1773. He divided the issue into the following paragraphs: the beginning of the Jesuits’ work in the Lublin region, their pastoral work and their educational-cultural work. The author states that even after the dissolution of the Order in 1773, Jesuits were still connected with the Lublin region. As an example he quotes their work in the schools run by the Commission for National Education, and a personal example was ex-Jesuit priest, Rev. Grzegorz Piramowicz, who for nearly 25 years (from 1775) held the office of parish priest in Kurów and Końskowola, parishes situated in the Lublin region, where all the time he educated peasant children.Pozycja Jan Walkusz, Sekcja Historii Kościoła w Polsce 1964-2014 [Section of History of the Church in Poland 1964-2014], Lublin-Pelplin: Bernardinum 2016, pp. 342 + 2 unnumbered.Flaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2017)Pozycja Jan Walkusz, Sekcja Historii Kościoła w Polsce 1964-2014, Lublin‒Pelplin: Wydawnictwo Bernardinum 2016, ss. 342 + 2 nlb.Flaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2017)Pozycja Najnowsze publikacje książkowe o karmelitach bosych w PolsceFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2007)Pozycja Początki parafii rzymskokatolickiej Suchowola ZamojskaFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1996)The subject matter of the paper deals with the origins of the Roman-Catholic parish of Suchowola Zamojska, a parish which now belongs to the Zamość-Lubaczów diocese. The latter was established by virtue of John Paul Il’s bulla Totus Tuus Poloniae Populus of 25th March 1992. The Roman-Catholic parish in Suchowola Zamojska is very young, in comparison with the surrounding parishes. Its history is confined exclusively to the twentieth century. The territory of the present parish was inhabited in the past by the people of the two rites - the Uniate rite and the Roman-Catholic rite. The Uniate people had their own parish with St George orthodox church in Suchowola, a church which after abolition of the union in the Polish Kingdom in 1875 was changed into an orthodox church. Now the Roman-Catholics belonged to the parish in Krasnobród which up to 1864 (to the moment of annulment) had been administered by Dominicans, and then by diocesan priests. Thus it was to the beginning of the twentieth century, to the time of the First World War. When in 1918 Poland had regained independence a new situation arose. Then the orthodox parish, along with its orthodox church, was transformed in 1919 into a Roman-Catholic parish, by way of due religious and liturgical acts. The further parts of the paper will include the difficulties which the newly erected parish had to face, as well as the manifestations of its religious life. Their detailed character and variety of those difficulties do not permit us to quote them here. Let it suffice to say that all the data have been based on the source material, stored at the moment in the Archdiocesan Archives in Lublin and in the State Archives in Lublin, as well as on printed diocesan catalogues (schematisms).Pozycja Sposób powoływania lektorów w studiach zakonnych w XVII i XVIII wieku oraz przysługujące im przywilejeFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1995)The paper is a continuation of the author’s research on the religious studies in the 17th and 18th c. The author is concerned in it with two questions: the manner of recruiting lectors in religious studies in the 17th and 18th c. and with the privileges to which they were entitled. There was a great similarity between particular orders as to the nomination of lectors, or - as we would say today - religious professors and their privileges. Almost in all orders the most important criterium when recruiting to the office of lector was the intellectual level of the candidates. It was evaluated in the course of exams of several stages and public disputes. Dominicans recruited their lectors in two ways: via scholae and via praedicationis. A possibility to bring lectors (in case there was a shortage of them) from other provinces ensured that the religious youth could continually pursue their studies, and allowed to maintain their high standard. Privileges to which professors of religious studies where entitled were wide in scope. They concerned various spheres of religious life. In order to ensure lectors intellectual work they were exempted from some duties imposed by their rule and Constitutions, such as nocturnal vigil or some fasts. The duties of lectors were also combined with some organizational limitations, e.g. they could not hold any other religious posts when fulfilling the function of lectors. This was also with a view to ensure lectors proper conditions to fulfill their lectors’ tasks well.Pozycja Stan liczebny studentów i zakres programu nauczania w studiach filozoficzno-teologicznych w zakonach franciszkańskich w Polsce w XVIII wiekuFlaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 1997)The author draws on to his former papers devoted to the studies on the orders in the 17th and 18th centuries. He is dealing in them with the philosophico-theological curriculum and the number of students in the four Franciscan orders (Conventual Franciscans, Bernardines, Reformats and Capuchins) in the 18lh century. The paper has been based on the materials from the so-called questionnaire of the nuncio in Poland, Giuseppe Garampi, of 1772-1774, and on the existing literature. It follows from the author’s considerations that among the students of philosophy and theology of all, basically Franciscan, orders, the students of dogmatic and moral theology were the majority. This was most conspicuous in the case of the Reformats. The course of theology should have lasted four years, but the principle was not fully observed, and at times the course was reduced to three years. As to the curriculum, the author has stated that in the Franciscan orders theology and philosophy were read mainly according to John Duns Scotus, with some remnants of humanism. There were attempts, most often made by the superiors of the orders (provincials, abbots), to keep appropriate standard of the studies, though some circumstances which disorganized studies and lowered their level were accepted.Pozycja Stanisław Tylus SAC, Fundacje kościołów parafialnych w średniowiecznej archidiecezji lwowskiej, Redakcja Wydawnictw KUL, Lublin 1999, ss. 284 + mapa, Zusammenfassung i Rezjume.Flaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2003)Pozycja Świętość na dworze książąt polskich w XIII w.Flaga, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2004)Pozycja Zakony żeńskie w najnowszej historiografii polskiejFlaga, Jerzy (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2013)
