Eschatologiczny wymiar nauczania religii w środowisku przedszkolnym i szkolnym

Religious instruction in kindergardens and schools is one of the forms of predicting the God’s word and educating children and teenagers in faith. Its identity is defined not only by the aims, tasks and content but also by dimensions on which the most important values permeating the whole process and directing it to the future are centered. Nowadays, many dimensions are discussed like biblical, ecclesial, liturgical, existential, moral, cultural, eschatological, historical and ecumenical. This article presents the way of expressing the eschatological dimension. The theologians’ reflection concerning “eschatology” and its synonyms is treated as a reference point. The main part of the article delas with the eschatological issues that can be found in the recent catechesis core curriculum and the religion teaching programme. Finally, the analysis is summarized and the guidelines for the authors of new religion coursebook series in different types of schools are presented.
ICT in der theologisch-religiösen Ausbildung polnischer Religionslehrer innen

With the development of new information and communication technologies in Poland and the digitization of Polish schools, an attempt was made to present ICT as used in the contemporary formation of Polish catechists. Reference was made to the catechetical documents of the universal Church and in Poland, normative acts and literature of the subject. Attention was paid to both initial and permanent formation. For this purpose, a short presentation was made of the current state of the formation of catechists in Poland regarding ICT. Next, the status and functions of ICT in the formation of Polish catechists were analyzed and the ways of its implementation. This showed that ICT has a special place in the contemporary formation of Polish catechists. ICT is indispensable for catechists because only in this way can they enhance their IT skills. At the same time a number of e-learning options were presented, as well as the possibilities that ICT opens for catechists working in schools regarding lesson organization and methodology. Also, the article shows the importance of the ability to use remote learning platforms (e.g., Storybird, Padlet, Story Dice) and create and use various applications (such as LearningApps.org., Kahoot!).
Introducing Teenagers to a Dialogue with Judaism as the Task of School Catechesis

This analysis proves that introducing teenagers to a dialogue with Judaism is one of catechesis’s tasks. This task has been outlined in the post-conciliar documents of the Catholic Church. It underlines the spiritual ties between Catholic people and the Jews and promotes forming an attitude of openness towards followers of the Mosaic religion. It also contributes to mitigating anti-Semitism among Catholic teenagers. At the same time, it raises interest in Jewish traditions and culture. In the religion syllabus in lower and post-secondary schools we can come across numerous references (mainly indirect) to Judaism. The focus on passing honest knowledge about Judaism can be also clearly visible. In this way, formation of the cognitive element of interreligious dialogue takes place. On the other hand, less attention is devoted to other components of this attitude such as the emotional and behavioural elements. That is why there is a demand to complete the lacking elements by watching films and having discussions. The above mentioned multimedia materials called “The religion lesson” have been prepared to satisfy this need. Great importance is also attached to creating situations that allow Christian teenagers to participate in meetings with the Jews. It can be organized in the form of Days of Judaism and panel discussions with Jews and distinguished contemporary theologians and philosophers. Open meetings with representatives of Judaism are a great opportunity to perceive the Jews as “older brethren in the faith”. They let young people discover the cultural wealth and vision of Judaism and teach teenagers respect for the religious beliefs of the Jews. Thereby, they can contribute to the change of mentality of young participants of catechesis in their approach to Judaism. It is worth referring to the works of Jewish culture in these activities. It is the cultural heritage that comprises a great reference point to showing the strong Judaic roots of Christian culture. Thus, it is necessary, for the topics in Judaism proposed for religious syllabuses and catechetical material to be closely connected with organizing meetings of young Catholics with followers of the Mosaic religion. Only this kind of experience can contribute to an authentic inter-religious dialogue.
Katechetyczne myśli encykliki papieża Franciszka „Lumen fidei”

This article attempted to present catechetical thoughts included in the encyclical Lumen fidei. It is the newest papal encyclical, the first during the pontificate of Pope Francis. Its subject matter is connected with “The year of faith” celebrated in the Catholic Church. This encyclical was created with significant participation of Benedict XVI, the predecessor of the present Pope Francis. The present Pope added a few thoughts to this draft. Firstly, this reflection was focused on depicting the understanding of faith in Lumen fidei encyclical. The attention was paid to catechetical message relating to faith. Next, the subject of faith stimulation and developmet in catechesis was discussed. Although this encyclical is not devoted to catechesis it contains many important catechetical thoughts. Therefore, an attempt was made to discover these catechetical truths and show their meaning for reflection and catechists’ work.
Katecheza dorosłych w świetle wytycznych I Synodu Diecezji Opolskiej

Adult catechesis belongs to current problems in the pastoral activity of the universal and local Church. The problems of this catechesis concentrate most of all on the possibilities of systematic development of adult’s faith and their active engagement in the Church’s activity. This article presents the idea of adult catechesis prepared by The 1st Opole Diocese Synod working in years 2002-2005. Not only has it shown and justified the need of adult catechesis but also depicted various opportunities to realize this catechesis in the form of pastoral catechesis in the parish. The realization of adult catechesis in the particular parish promotes the development of faith as well as it offers the possibility to engage in the Church’s life.
O potrzebie tolerancji w posłudze katechety

Social-cultural transformations in the modern world play an important role not only in education and general socialization, but also decide about the teachers’ axiological preferences and attitudes. They also have a significant effect on the quality of catechization, mainly on the range of the catechist’s didactic and educational tasks at school. The task connected with education of children and adolescents in the spirit of tolerance should be included here. However, the point is not to be adjusted to the commonly propagated slogans, in which tolerance is understood very widely, but it is the attitude that is the expression of properly understood tolerance, based on Christian axiology. Hence, the aim of the present study is to refer to the issues connected with transmission of knowledge and with shaping socially desired attitudes of tolerance among the catechized pupils. First the concept of “tolerance”, and then the features distinguishing the attitude of tolerance among catechists are described. Against this background the role of tolerance in school catechesis and the ways of forming tolerance in the catechized pupils are described.
Problematyka wiary w refleksji współczesnych polskich katechetyków

Artykuł ma na celu dokonanie przeglądu refleksji współczesnych polskich katechetyków na temat wiary. Problematyka wiary jest ważna i zawsze aktualna, dlatego często pojawia się ona w wielu publikacjach. Katechetycy podejmują różne problemy, a wśród nich często zajmują się rozwijaniem poznania treści wiary i kształtowaniem postaw wynikających z wiary. Są to problemy wpisane w naturę katechezy i wychowania chrześcijańskiego, dlatego poświęcono im wiele uwagi w niniejszym artykule. Uzupełniono je o definiowanie wiary – polscy katechetycy też o tym piszą, nie można było więc pominąć tej problematyki.

The people who are responsible for catechesis preparing candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation notice the need to create catechetical materials with diocesan range. Therefore, more and more often the materials are created for specific diocese. One of the proposals are the materials that have been consecutively developed (since 2012) for the formation meetings for candidates for Confirmation in the diocese of Opole. These materials were based on the guidelines of The Catholic Education Commission of Polish Episcopal Conference and the Instruction on preparation and celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the diocese of Opole that has been issued by the bishop of Opole Andrzej Czaja. This article presents basic information about parish catechesis that prepares candidates for Confirmation. This issue was discussed on the basis of aforementioned instruction of the bishop of Opole. Next, materials used by priests, catechists and candidates for Confirmation were outlined. In the course of analysis an attempt was made to evaluate the Opole materials. The attention was paid to the accordance of the model adopted in the diocese of Opole preparing candidates for Confirmation with the guidelines of The Catholic Education Commission of Polish Episcopal Conference. On these grounds it was stated that the Opole materials were prepared according to the criteria that are obligatory in the Church in Poland. Therefore, these materials deserve to be used during formation meetings in other dioceses.

Wychowanie liturgiczne dzieci i młodzieży w nowej podstawie programowej katechezy Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce

Children’s and teenagers’ liturgical education is an important task of integral catechesis. It is accomplished at school and in parish. The knowledge about liturgy is passed on at school while the formation of attitudes and introduction to Christ mystery, present and acting in sacraments, is done in parish. The aim of this article is to describe the above mentioned issues based on the new, signed on March 8,h 2010 “Catechesis curriculum of Catholic Church in Poland.” First, liturgical education is briefly discussed. Then, the new catechesis curriculum is synthetically characterized. Next, liturgical eductation and forming liturgical attitudes according to the new curriculum is presented. The particular stages of education in kindergarden, primary school, gimnazjum and secondary school are underlined. Summarising these considrations the author evaluates children’s and teenagers’ liturgical education that is proposed in the new catechesis curriculum. New catechetical and pastoral challenges are also mentioned here.
Wychowanie liturgiczne młodzieży gimnazjalnej na przykładzie wybranych podręczników do nauczania religii

Successive series of religion coursebooks for the middle school are being created nowadays. These positions are adjusted to the binding Roman Catholic Religion curriculum in kindergartens and schools from 2010. Concern to realize all catechetical tasks is visible in these coursebboks. Liturgical education is among these tasks. The aim of this article is the elaboration of liturgical education of middle school pupils exampled on the coursebooks from the following publishing companies: Kraków, Lublin and Poznań. Attention has been called to the essence of liturgical education. There has been a discussion about liturgical eduation based on Lublin, Kraków and Poznan coursebboks. The choice of these has been dictated by their popularity and Polish nationwide character. In conclusion a short summary has been made along with emphasising the adventages and disadventages of the analysed corsebooks.
