Paul was a Pharisee, educated in Jerusalem in the school of the famous rabbi Gamaliel I. He was convinced that the only way to salvation is to be faithful to the Torah by observing all 613 commandments of the Jewish Law. After his meeting with Christ by the gate of Damascus, Paul acquired an absolutely new insight into the work of salvation. Paul presented his new conviction in the Christological hymns and prayers of his letters: one can be saved only by faith in Jesus Christ and not by observance of the Law.Pozycja E.P. It isn’t here about analysis of the family tree of the Jesus according to Luke, but for showing genealogy the function as a literary genre in the composition and content of the Gospel. To this purpose he is presenting very kind at first through the attempt to define what genealogy is (1), next is portraying functioning of this kind in ancient Greek-Hellenic literature (2) in order against the this way scraped background to present the genealogy of the Jesus at Luke (3). These three stages let this presentation for getting more general conclusions which was drawn in the conclusion (the biblical criticism put an end to 4). Biblical genealogies examined from a literary point of view are aimed at justifying the national purity of descendants and they are useful for messianic inquiry. Also adopting the thesis is possible that genealogies serve the connection of known once traditions as separate (e.g. of tradition about the Abraham and Jakub). So genealogy is performing in the Bible (and therefore also in the Gospel of Luke) religious function, not whereas historical.Pozycja „Godzina” Jezusa w Ewangelii według św. Anointed by the Holy Spirit during the John the Baptist’s baptism (Lk 3, 21-22) and full of the Holy Spirit as the prophets of old (4,1.14) Jesus comes back to Nazareth. In the local synagogue He applies to Himself the messianic prophecies of Isaiah (Is58,6; 61,1-2). With no doubt the proclamation of God’s will comes into the essence of the prophet’s mission. Then Jesus starts to speak (4,21) to the audience, interpreting the text of Isaiah that has just been read. The reactions to His words are exactly the same as the reactions toward the ancient prophets. To confirm this Jesus recalls the figures of Elijah and Elisha (4,25-27). The reaction of the mob, full of anger, is already the first part of the rejected prophets’ lot (4,29). The text, being an introduction to the whole of two-volume Lukas’ work, forms a micro-cosmos in the Gospel named by him and in the Acts. It is so not only because Lk 4,16-30 contains the most important and typical elements of his theology but also because the Church continues up to our days the prophetic mission of Jesus Christ.Pozycja John F.
