Pozycja Prove specifiche di una spiritualità comunitaria. Una riflessione alla luce dell’esperienza del Movimento dei FocolariWasiutyńska, Katarzyna (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)Contemporary life of the Church, against the background of dynamic cultural changes of the surrounding society, is marked by an urgent call to discover and value the community dimension, to the mysticism of living together. In view of the spread of spirituality of communion, a question arises about the corresponding asceticism, about the specific forms of purification and spiritual trials that it may encounter. From this perspective, we read the experience of the Focolare Movement, referring primarily to the writings of its founder, Chiara Lubich. The reflection revolves around two basic concepts that relate to the mystical and ascetic dimensions: unity – Jesus forsaken.Pozycja Architektura i sztuka liturgiczna jako antidotum na desakralizację. Studium twórczości artystycznej M.I. Rupnika SIKimsza, Radosław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)Contemporary architecture and sacred art have lost their original instinct in favor of illegible and ambiguous forms. In this way, sacred art, in a sense, sent the message to be a reality that helps man in contact with God, or, as the theorists of sacred art wanted, a tool that brings God down to earth. These tendencies are being remedied by Fr. Marko I. Rupnik, a Slovenian Jesuit, theologian and iconographer, founder of the Aletti Center – an institute of theology and art, promoting the idea of “the Christian breathing of two lungs”, combining the Eastern and Western traditions, which formed the doctrine of the undivided Church. The effect of Rupnik’s theological thought is liturgical art, which, inscribed in architecture, creates a space for human meeting with God.Pozycja Moral Renewal as a Socio-Religious Imperative and the Destructive Actions of an Oppressive Totalitarian State: in the Context of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński’s Personalistic Concept of Social LifeFicek, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)The historical legacy and destructive actions of the oppressive totalitarian state of the post-war Polish Peoples’ Republic were associated with severe threats to the Nation’s socio-cultural existence. In this context, the seriousness of the situation was related to both geopolitical conditions and several systemic shortcomings of the communist state, ideologically hostile to Christianity, as well as to native culture. However, dangerous addictions and national moral flaws also played an important role. Therefore, the specificity of the situation demanded an absolute opposition to the above problems on the part of all social structures of the Nation. According to Cardinal Wyszyński, it was not only about overcoming one or another national-moral defect, but a comprehensive moral transformation in the spirit of Christian culture was required, which could become a religious and social program for the moral rebirth of the entire Nation. Thus, moral renewal has become an indispensable condition for positive changes in Poland. It is realized in the community of the Church by proclaiming the Gospel message of redemption accomplished in Jesus Christ and calling for fidelity to the baptismal sacramental grace. At the same time, it displayed the ways and means of renewing all socio-cultural structures in their specific historical reality. Unfortunately, the programmatic process of secularization and atheization carried by employing various means and methods posed a significant threat to Poles’ culture and identity and the Nation’s religious and moral life. Therefore, the foundation for social life’s moral renewal was a rebirth in Christ, realized through metanoia and reconciliation with God in the Church. However, this process requires a radical turn towards God, which results in a change of consciences and a deepening of the human person’s consciousness and moral sensitivity, family, and, consequently, the nation. Nevertheless, a change in thinking and evaluating of conscience entails a shift in attitudes that, oriented towards holiness, would lead to Christian perfection in Christ. Thus, the return to God through Marian devotion (Soli Deo per Mariam) becomes the fundamental basis of the moral renewal of social life’s whole reality. It takes place both through a continuous transformation of hearts and attitudes of individual people as well as the entire community in the dimension of sacramental reconciliation with God in the Church.Pozycja Znaczenie kierownictwa duchowego bł. ks. Michała Sopoćki dla dynamicznego urzeczywistnienia woli Bożej przez św. s. Faustynę KowalskąJaworski, Bogusław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)Spiritual direction in the relationship of Bl. Fr. Michael Sopocko and St. S. Faustina is a clear example of the effective cooperation of God, the spiritual director, and the person benefiting form the service. The Saint’s confessor has shown three stages of spiritual development, discovery, and fulfillment of God’s will. The first is to keep external precepts and laws in which God’s will is revealed. The second is to discover, discern, and follow inner inspirations. The third is to put ourself at God’s total and unconditional disposal. At each stage, the desire of self-offering as a sacrifice, like Jesus Christ, increases. The role of the spiritual director is also increasing, who not only supports the discernment of God's will, assists in recognizing the deception of the enemy of the soul, helps to avoid mistakes, supports in difficult experiences and times of trials, but also helps in choosing the best way to implement God’s plans. The purpose of this article is to provide practical guidance and ways to apply them in spiritual direction to the service-giver and the person taking benefits from this form of assistance on the way of sanctification.Pozycja Maryja – „Ucieczka nasza” w czasie próbyChmielewski, Marek (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)The history of the Church, and especially the history of spirituality, provides countless facts which, from the perspective of the Christian faith, are seen as special interventions of God, asked by believers through the mediation and intercession of Our Lady. Therefore the Mariological teaching of the Church and Marian devotion recommend to invoke the Mother of Jesus in various crisis situations of our life as the “Refuge of sinners”, the “Comforter of the afflicted”, the “Advocate” and “Mediatrix”, and also as the “Mother of reliable hope”. The asking the protection of the Mother of God is expressed in numerous prayers. The author in the article analyses the above-mentioned Marian titles and presents three selected, the oldest and Church-approved antiphons: “We flee to thy patronage” (Sub Tuum praesidium), “Hail Holy Queen” (Salve Regina) and “Mother of the Redeemer” (Alma Redemptoris Mater).Pozycja Doświadczenie cierpienia jako próba nadziei i ufności do BogaPoleszak, Leszek (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)Experience of pain and suffering is a border situation in one’s life. Both for the believers and for the unbelievers it is a deep shock, which has its consequences in the life of a particular person as well as in their relationships with others. For the people who believe experience of suffering can become a trial of hope and trust in God. Adopting the right stance facing suffering allows the person to revalue its meaning and additionally to find the answers for the most fundamental questions which suffering raise. The source of hope and trust for Christians is the risen Christ, who accepting suffering through love, added redeeming value to it. Suffering lived with Christ enriches a human being and allows him / her to mirror the only begotten Son of God.Pozycja Virtualité et sacramentalité dans la vie spirituelleKurowski, Rémy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)The ongoing pandemic is increasing the use of remote means of communication. Online ministry, already very present in the pastoral fabric of the Church, is growing. This continues to raise questions for Christian theology. We can use the Covid-19 experience in the Catholic Community in Hong Kong to raise questions and fuel new thinking for pastoral ministry. Ministering online raises the question of effectiveness, necessitates prioritizing community-centric actions, obliges us to reconsider intra-ecclesiastical relations, and exposes latent individualism and the fragility of the sacramental bond of belonging to the Body of Christ that is the Church. It is also instructive with regard to instincts for spiritual survival on the one hand, and vulnerability on the other. To make room for such novelty, focusing on the ongoing conversion of hearts is key, together with seeking the theological value of real communion conveyed by the virtual Eucharist Mass.Pozycja Le prove connesse con la lotta spirituale per la liberazione dell’uomo dall’influsso del demonioNanni, Gabriele (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)The author intends to introduce a theological reflection on the experience of exorcists and possessed by the devil, regarding the temptations and trials that incur in the exorcist and liberation prayer. As for the exorcist or someone who has a charism of liberation, the first temptation comes from the root of pride, which pushes to identify themselves with the assignment or charisma that has been received. It is therefore important to qualify who the exorcist is and who can perform exorcisms. Does the gap between the institution of the ministry and the charism justify a direct commission from God? With regard to the person attacked by the devil, the duration and intensity of the sufferings lead to loneliness and despair, with the loss of the theological virtues, especially of hope, which is the ultimate goal of the devil. Temptations are actually the way to defeat the devil, where the essence of exorcism, in addition to the form of direct command, finds its fulfillment in conformation to the cross of Christ. The exorcist configured to Christ is the true liberator of souls with Jesus and the possessed person is the true crucified with Jesus. Both contribute to the defeat of the devil and to the glory of God.
