Pozycja Św. Tomasz – Doctor Gratiae? Prymat łaski Bożej u św. Tomasza z Akwinu w świetle szesnastowiecznej polemiki wyznaniowejSkładanowski, Marcin (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)The author seeks to underline these elements of Saint Thomas Aquinas’ teaching on the necessity of divine grace which concern the fundamental theological issues of the Reformation. A brief analysis of Luther’s idea about Scholastic theology and his reasons for rejection of the Catholic doctrine on grace, in the light of Aquinas’ teaching, indicates that Luther probably did not know the original thought of Doctor Angelicus. The article consists of two parts. The first is devoted to Luther’s rejection of Scholastic theology and the problem of Luther’s knowledge of Aquinas’ works. The second part presents Aquinas’ theses on the necessity of divine grace which coincide with some Luther’s theological intuitions.Pozycja Tussen sacralisatie en banalisering. Lijden in de theologie van Edward SchillebeeckxNadbrzeżny, Antoni (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)This paper discusses the relationship between human suffering and the Christian praxis of solidarity in the theology of Edward Schillebeeckx. The author first describes the personalist and humanist character of Schillebeeckx’s theology. He then presents the different types of individual and communal suffering. In the final part of his paper, the author expounds the categories of orthopraxis and metanoia. Emphasis is placed upon the concepts of the Christian solidarity and resistance to suffering. It is not suffering itself but the human attitude toward those who suffer that manifests and advances the Reign of God in our earthly history.Pozycja Relationship Between the Universal Church and the Local ChurchesSiwecki, Leon (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)In the relationship between the universal Church and the local Churches, two false options are generally excluded. The first underlines that the universal Church is the simple result of a federation of already existing local Churches. The second emphasizes that the local Church is simply an administrative subdivision or part of the universal Church. Though the universal Church is ontologically prior to the local Church, as the letter Communionis notio claims, yet the local Church is the concrete manifestation of the universal Church in a determined time and space, as the universal Church exists “in and from” the local Churches. The terms in the formula in quibus et ex quibus are equally essential as is the relationship between them.Pozycja Oblicza solidarności w czasach niepewnychBarth, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)This article discusses the idea of solidarity in the context of contemporary social and cultural challenges, referring mainly to H.G. Gadamer, K. Wojtyła and J. Tischner. First, the author tries to characterize different approaches to solidarity, its false and contradictory interpretations. In the next point, he shows the need for a reflective approach to solidarity in uncertain times. The reflective approach affects the resolution of the conflict of interpretation of the world, man, values. The ability to see the otherness and the distinctiveness of others in their respect as free personal subjects, as well as the basic readiness to give and receive, not only opens the way to values, but creates the conditions for learning solidarity. The consequence of the presented approach is the analysis of reciprocity, which is based on openness, cooperation and trust towards the participants of social life.Pozycja Reguła naśladowania MaryiPek, Kazimierz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)The Rule of the Ten Virtues of the Most B.V.M., or the Rule of the Ten Pleasures of the Most B.V.M. (Regula Decem Beneplacitorum Beatissimae Virginis Mariae), is one of the few religious rules approved in spite of the decree issued by the IV Lateran Council in 1215. This decree forbade the approval of the newly founded religious orders on any other than one of the previously approved rules. The Rule was composed by a Franciscan, Fr. Gilbert Nicolas, better known as Gabriel Maria, the name he received from Pope Leo X by his brief (breve) of June 11, 1517. From 1498, Bl. Gabriel Maria was the confessor and spiritual director of Joan de Valois, Queen of France and then the Duchess of Berry. With the help from her spiritual director, Blessed Gabriel Maria, the Duchess of Berry and 11 other women started a contemplative order of the Virgin Mary. It was also known as the Order of the Ten Virtues or Ten Pleasures of the Mother of God, the Order of Annunciation of the B.V.M. or the Annunciade. The Blessed Virgin Mary was to be the model for the nuns and the virtues that she practiced, that are mentioned in the Gospels, became their rule of life. Thus The Rule of the Ten Virtues came into being, because the Scriptures directly speak of those virtues.Pope Julius II, and also popes Innocent XII and Innocent XIII, confirmed The Rule of the Ten Virtues of the Most B.V.M. Along with giving a certification to the Rule, Julius II, and the above-said Leo X, granted indulgences to the Chaplet of the Ten Evangelical Virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, contained in that Rule. The Chaplet which was composed by St. Joan is an obligatory spiritual exercise for those who retain the Rule. In following of the instruction from the Apostolic See, The Rule of the Ten Virtues of the Most B.V.M. was adopted for a male order, which was in agreement with the wish of the Foundress, as mentioned before. Throughout the centuries, the popes granted numerous spiritual graces, privileges, and indulgences to the Order of the Annunciade (ed. Andrew Maczynski).Pozycja Spotkanie przeszłości z przyszłościąNapiórkowski, Stanisław Celestyn (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)Pozycja Teologiczna hermeneutyka języka wiaryGóźdź, Krzysztof (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)The theological hermeneutics of the language of faith proposed by A. Grabner-Haider is a theological method of explaining, understanding and interpreting the entirety of the language of faith. This Austrian methodologist of religion distinguishes in a programmatic way between the scientific and the pre-scientific, pragmatic type of interpretation and argumentation. Grabner-Haider is exactly right in observing that this primary divide leads to another one: between two canonical logical languages (Orthosprache). The former is the canonical language of an interpreter, which is used indirectly to talk about the subject matter of the text, while the latter is the canonical language of the transposed text. Both these languages can interact by reciprocal corrections, critical approaches and modifications. It is possible to move past the canonical language of the text’s author towards the canonical language of its interpreter. In this case, the canonical language of the author can be labelled “Interpretandum.” This means the text that is subject to interpretation, understanding or translation. The canonical language of the interpreter, on the other hand, can be labelled “Interpretans,” that is the one utilized for interpretation, understanding or translation. Consequently, it makes sense to believe that theology allows space for hermeneutics proper. The scientific type of hermeneutics, which as such assumes a need for language analysis, marks a passage from the canonical language of the analysed text to the canonical language of the interpreter. One can also say that scientific hermeneutics is a kind of understanding of a systematically ordered text via a systematically ordered language.Pozycja Od satisfactio do redamatio. Responsoryjna reinterpretacja idei wynagradzaniaPędrak, Anna (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)It is not easy for many people today to understand the idea of a religious reparation. Theology sometimes does not offer an adequate language for explication of this idea. Throughout the ages the concept of satisfaction has changed and it has been related to the topic of sin and God’s justice or love. Unfortunately the concept of reparation was often deformed by connecting it with a superficial devotion which simplified the importance of salvation. This article is an attempt to show the idea of satisfaction in a new way by emphasizing its responsorial character. The paper synthetically presents the teaching of the Bible and of the most important theologians belonging to the tradition of the last two thousand years. The salvation is shown – on the one hand – as the expression of God’s love or solidarity with a sinful man, and – on the other hand – as a human answer to this love. This is the key for the reinterpretation of the idea of satisfaction.Pozycja Atribúty kresťanskej antropológieAdam, Anton (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2018)Theology develops and formulates its reflections in the context of human presence in the world. Christian anthropology is particularly committed to this mission. Protology points to God’s original plan for the man, who is oriented towards eschatological fulfilment. Anthropology in the teachings of the Catholic Church is based on a solid foundation of the mystery of Christ. Although many things change over time, there are certain values that are not subject to such change, because they have a foundation in Christ. The Catholic Church indicates the ultimate goal of human life. Anthropology stands in the service of theology in its many dimensions. It is important to recognize the personalist dimension of theology.Pozycja Czas wspomnień.
